Portfolio Submission Form
Each portfolio submission requires a completed Portfolio Submission Form . A completed form includes a student's identification information, the list of supporting papers being submitted, the title of the new WPE performance essay and the student's signature. For a copy of the form, please click here.
Supporting papers that are being submitted as part of a portfolio must be certified by the instructors that assigned those papers. The Certification Form allows the instructor to indicate that the accompanying paper is appropriate for a WPE portfolio submission. The back of the form includes a detailed description of the Portfolio Requirements. For a copy of the form, please click here.
WPE Waiver Form
Students that have already earned a bachelor's degree from UMass Boston, or at any other university where the language of instruction is English and the institution is accredited by one of the U.S. Regional Accreditation Agencies, and are now pursuing another degree can apply for a waiver of the Writing Proficiency Requirement. You can find out if the university that granted you your previous degree is accredited at the Council of Higher Education Accreditation's database at http://www.chea.org/search/default.asp (scroll down to agree to its terms and conditions).
The WPE Waiver Form includes the list of supporting documentation needed for a waiver application if your previous degree is from a university that is not accredited or where the language of instruction was not English. For a copy of the form, please click here.
