About the Department of Athletics

Intercollegiate athletics, intramurals/recreation for students, staff and faculty are the primary concerns of the Department of Athletics. UMass Boston teams compete in the ECAC, the Little East Conference and the ECAC East for ice hockey. Thirty-three Beacons in 12 sports have achieved All-America status a total of 113 times.

The Department of Athletics also has the responsibility of providing service to the community. Whether it is complimentary use of the Clark Athletic Center's indoor and outdoor facilities, coaches' and student athletes' sport clinics for youth groups, or holiday visits to area hospitals, UMass Boston Athletics is in the forefront of serving communities around the state.
