Memory Study

Our Memory Study consists of three measures of infant memory. The first measure is behavior of your baby, which is measured by videotaping a play session between you and your baby. The second measure of infant memory includes changes in your baby's heart rate, respiration, and skin conductance during the play session. We look at this through the use of small jellied sensors placed on the skin which will send information to our computers. Finally, the third measure of infant memory looks at changes in hormone levels founds in your baby's saliva which change with the time of day and excitement level. We will measure these changes by collecting saliva samples from your baby at specified times during the visit with a very small sponge.
