Visiting Fellow, Center for Social Policy
Evenlyn Frankford has more than 30 years of experience in interagency strategic public policy planning and execution, organizational leadership, government relations, public engagement, and fundraising. She translates complex policy goals and research into effective action that engages diverse stakeholders to advance and implement complex, multi-agency initiatives. She brings interdisciplinary knowledge in education, physical and mental health, child and youth development, and community and family support to the work of convening stakeholders that cross traditional boundaries.
For much of her career, Frankford worked for a statewide nonprofit policy organization in Albany, NY. More recently, she worked for a national technical assistance organization on school health and mental health and for a commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Social Services (now Children and Families) on schools-services linkages. As an independent consultant, she works with organizations of all kinds that help youth achieve better outcomes and that launch them into successful adult life. She currently consults with Massachusetts and District of Columbia departments of mental health and for a New York City-based community organization. She is staffing CSP’s interdisciplinary initiative, in collaboration with other UMass Boston institutes and schools, to promote paradigm change in school and community-based student support services to improve education outcomes for students in urban districts.
