Hayley Gleason is a doctoral candidate in the Gerontology PhD Program. She received her bachelor's degree from Elon University in North Carolina, a master's in social work from the University of Michigan, and a master's in gerontology from UMass Boston. Gleason is currently the assistant director of the Home Care Aide Council, a nonprofit trade association committed to enhancing the quality of care throughout the home care industry by focusing on the advancement of the home care aide workforce. Prior to moving to Massachusetts, Gleason worked for a startup retirement community in Colorado Springs, Colorado called The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. She began as the director of the Memory Care Unit and then became the associate executive director. Her academic interest in the field of Gerontology remains in long term care, with a particular focus on community based care and the direct care workforce.
