Faculty Council

ANNOUNCEMENT

We, the executive committee of the Faculty Council, invite you to the upcoming Open Meeting of the Faculty Council to be held on May 11th, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. in the Chancellor’s Conference Room (Quinn building third floor). This is a faculty onlymeeting designed to provide a forum for faculty to ask questions and discuss concerns.

Last semester, the Open Meeting of the Faculty Council was attended by more than 30 faculty, including Department chairs.  Important issues and concerns were raised and placed on both short- and long-term agendas for faculty governance, including administrative transparency, budgetary and space allocations, academic freedom, and even the content of Faculty Council meetings themselves. As part of this semester’s Open Meeting, we would like to re-visit these issues, discuss the steps we have taken to address them, and check in with faculty regarding future action we can and should take.

Light refreshments will be provided. We encourage your attendance and look forward to hearing your questions, thoughts, ideas, and concerns.

Sincerely,

Sugu, Jane, Steve, Heike, and Heidi
