Government Relations and Public Affairs

The Division of Government Relations and Public Affairs serves as the primary point of contact and source of information about the University of Massachusetts Boston, university events, and achievements. The division cultivates relationships and partnerships with university administration, faculty, staff, the media, and the greater Boston community.

Government Relations and Public Affairs:

  • represents UMass Boston’s interests on legislation, regulation, and policy affecting the institution at the city, state, and national level
  • supports elective and administration officials who are seeking information, research, or experts to craft policy and programs to more effectively serve their constituencies
  • coordinates communications with the state legislative delegation and local elected officials
  • assists community organizations and business groups
  • handles all university media outreach and inquiries
  • produces university publications and advertisements
  • manages areas of the UMass Boston website

The division also provides marketing, design, editorial services, and branding guidance for the university’s colleges, programs, and administrative offices.
