Upcoming events and activities
The IGERT fellows and associate fellows get together every Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to discuss IGERT-related administrative, academic, and research questions. This is the forum to discuss events and activities that can be made part of the IGERT program, e.g., social hour, blogging, spreading the word about their work, tweeting, and attending seminars. Check the calendar below to see what is planned.
In the spring term, this seminar will change focus to help students define/refine their interdisciplinary research hypothesis/questions through focused presentation and feedback from advisors, faculty and peers. The seminar presentations are focused on the following three main questions: a) What is the key hypothesis/research question? b) What kind of data and/or analysis will help answer the question(s) or hypothesis? and c) What specific feedback are you seeking to refine/revise your question/hypothesis and proposed method? The seminar offers an opportunity for all participants to develop a common language across disciplines and further expand the employment of transdisciplinary methods to address complex challenges facing coasts and communities, both locally and globally.
IGERT events and activities are posted on this calendar. Check it often for updates.
