The Hero at Evening

William Tucker's The Hero at Evening

William Tucker (1935- )

As Tucker modeled a series of small heads, “they began to look like friends [or] characters from literature and history,” he writes. As this head expanded, it morphed into a portrait of Simón Bolívar, the South American general whom Tucker admires for his efforts to end Spanish control of the continent.
