Description

Adaptive Technology assisted lab exam support and training via application specific software and proctoring supplied by the Ross Center.

We provide training and support on the following applications:

  • MS Office Pro
  • JAWS for Windows
  • Kurzweil 1000
  • Kurzweil 3000
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • OmniPage Pro
  • Duxbury Braille Translater
  • ZoomText
  • McAfee VirusScan
  • Victor Reader
  • Read & Write Gold

Eligibility

Faculty, Staff, Students

Availability

Users of the lab must be referred by the Ross Center and attend a tour and orientation prior to use of the lab.  Once prior requests are met, students may use the equipment on a space available basis as often as needed.

We serve people with these types of disabilities:

Orthopedic
Visual (blindness or low vision)
Deafness or hearing impairments
Acquired brain injuries
Learning disabilities
Communication disorders

Support

The Adaptive lab is open during the same hours of operation as the General Use Labs (GUL):

Sunday, 11:15am(EST)-4:45pm(EST)
Monday thru Thursday, 7:45am(EST)-9:45pm(EST)
Friday, 7:45am(EST)-5:45pm(EST)
Saturday, 9:15am(EST)-2:45pm(EST)

Interested parties may call the lab at 617-287-5227 to schedule a tour during hours of operation. However, all users of the lab must be referred by the Ross Center.
