U$Save Computer Purchase Program
The University of Massachusetts is pleased to offer the U$ave purchasing program for personal computers. This purchasing program takes advantage of the volume purchasing power of all five university campuses and returns substantial discounts to the purchaser.
As a student, staff or faculty member of UMass Boston, you can take advantage of lower prices on computer and electronics equipment from selected U$ave program manufacturers such as Apple, Dell, or Lenovo. These prices are only available to UMass students, faculty, and staff, and only on select equipment.
The Renewal Plan For Computer Equipment (REPLACE) program, which runs from 2003–present, is a replacement program for faculty and staff. Standard desktop computers—generally four years and older—will be replaced at no direct cost to the department receiving the equipment. On average, between 250 and 300 computers are replaced each year. PC laptops/tablets and Macintosh (iMac & MacBooks) computers are also replaced; however, the department receiving the equipment must pay the difference.
