Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce is coming to UMass Boston on Thursday, March 14 to speak to students about leadership in sports.
Doors open at 3:15 p.m., and the event kicks off at 4 p.m. in the Clark Athletic Center. Admission is free.
Pierce, founder of the Truth Fund, launched the Truth on Health Campaign to help empower and encourage young people to lead healthier lifestyles. He will be joined by Tara Mardigan, a nutritionist for the Boston Red Sox, and Bob Ryan, a columnist emeritus at The Boston Globe.
This event is part of the Undergraduate Student Government Leadership Speaker Series, and is also presented by the Division of Athletics and Recreation, Special Projects and Programs.
This leadership speaker series is designed to offer our students the opportunity to hear leaders from all walks of life speak about what leadership means to them, relevant current issues, and their own personal inspirations. It is also intended to be an open forum where students can ask the speaker questions about the successes and challenges they have encountered and different paths they have taken.
The event is also sponsored by Truth on Health and Savings Bank Life Insurance.
For more information, students should email Student Body President Jesse Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org.
