The track and field team made their outdoor New England debut over the weekend in record fashion, setting two more program bests at the Bridgewater State Invitational. 

Freshman Hulerie McGuffie of Lynn, who this week was named the 2013 Little East Conference Field Rookie Athlete of the Year for her indoor track season, broke the long jump record with a distance of 17-02.25 feet. Sophomore Nicole Aube of Westfield broke the hammer throw record with a distance of 108-06 feet. The women’s team recorded 13 personal bests; the men had 26 personal bests.

The Beacons (4-6) snapped a six-game losing streak Sunday with a doubleheader win over Salve Regina University. Sophomore Kelsey Svenson of Oxford, Conn. had a career day, going 5-for-7 with a run and two RBI.

The Beacons (3-6) were 2-2 on the week, dropping the final game of their Florida trip, 11-2. The team’s home opener at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, scheduled for Sunday, was postponed due to weather.

Men’s Lacrosse
The Beacons dropped both games this week and fell to 2-6 on the year.

Men’s Tennis
The men (2-3) began the spring portion of their schedule with a win and three losses.
