Beacons Win Dual Conference Tournament Titles for First Time in School History
The University of Massachusetts Boston women’s soccer team (17-2-0) took home its first Little East Conference championship title on Sunday, while the women’s volleyball team (17-11) won its fourth straight title.
UMass Boston’s 1-0 win over Western Connecticut State University means the soccer team will play in the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in the program’s history. The soccer team (18-2) will play Ithaca College (17-1-2) in Ithaca, New York, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The volleyball team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with a 3-1 win over Keene State College on Sunday. The volleyball team (17-11) will play MIT (30-5) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Luce Field House at Connecticut College in New London.
The UMass Boston volleyball team has advanced to the championship round of the NCAA regional tournament for the past two seasons.
