Chancellor J. Keith Motley will officially kick off the new academic year on Thursday at the annual Fall Convocation ceremony, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom. All members of the campus community are invited to attend.

A full day of festivities begins with the chancellor’s opening address, “The Golden Anniversary Inaugurates Our Golden Age.” At 11 a.m., we will welcome this year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Federico Mayor, the former head of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations’ cultural organization.

After 12 years at UNESCO, Mayor created the Foundation for a Culture of Peace, an educational organization dedicated to furthering peace and tolerance around the world.

At noon, a free barbecue will be held on the Campus Center circle, featuring food, games, and a great opportunity to connect with classmates and colleagues. We hope to see you there!
