Limited Number of Free Game Tickets Available; Pep Rally Open to All
UMass Boston freshmen will have a chance to take part in a free tailgate before the Citi Frozen Fenway game on January 7. The men’s hockey team will take on Salem State University at Fenway Park at 4 p.m.
The freshmen-only tailgate will be held at UMass Boston at 12:30 p.m. on game day, said Lauren Boothby Braun, coordinator for new student programs. Ballpark-style food will be served, including hot dogs, Cracker Jacks, and nachos. Students can play air hockey or foosball and get their picture taken with Bobby the Beacon. A pep rally open to all UMass Boston students, faculty, and staff will follow. Fans will then be bused to Fenway Park for the hockey game.
“The end of the semester can be tough with finals and someone brought up Frozen Fenway as a way to keep freshmen engaged over the winter,” Boothby Braun said.
A limited number of free tickets to the game are available for current UMass Boston freshmen. Interested freshmen should contact their success community or the Office of New Student Programs.
