This exhibit, open in UMass Boston's student-run Harbor Gallery now through March 31, honors the life of UMass Boston alumna and Dorchester artist Susan Macchi, killed by a drunk driver on the way home from a Boston Red Sox game in 2013. Macchi's daughter Juliet was killed in the same crash.
There will be a reception with Macchi's family on Thursday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Harbor Gallery, located on the first floor of McCormack Hall. The exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m.
A fund has been established in Susan and Juliet's names. All funds raised will be used to continue to conserve Susan’s body of work as well as establish a scholarship in her name.
