Men’s Hockey Team Sets Program Record With No. 5 Ranking in National Poll

Beacons Off to 10-0 Start

On Monday, the University of Massachusetts Boston men’s hockey team received their highest-ever national ranking. The Beacons are No. 5 in the poll, up one spot from last week.

The Beacons are currently No. 6 in the Men’s Top 15 poll, in large part because of their 10-0 record. This is only the second time in UMass Boston history that a program has started the season 10-0. The men’s lacrosse started the season 11-0 in 1997.

The men’s hockey team is second in the nation in Division III in goals per game (5.60) and tied for third in scoring margin per game (3.60).

The Beacons are now off for winter break. They host Connecticut College in the 50th Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament on Sunday, January 4.
