The North Parking Lot, adjacent to the Campus Center, will close permanently prior to the beginning of spring semester on January 28, 2013, to prepare for construction of General Academic Building No. 1, which will be located on the site.

The parking garage under the Campus Center will remain open, but the current entrance will be closed. Traffic will proceed in both directions through the current exit. Appropriate signage will direct drivers to the new entrance of the Campus Center garage. Handicapped parking spaces in the North Lot will be moved to other accessible parking areas.

On January 28, at the start of next semester, the university will open the Bayside parking lot on Mount Vernon Street and will provide dedicated free shuttle bus service from Bayside to the campus (Shuttle No. 3). People who frequently park in the North Lot should consider going directly to Bayside to park and take advantage of the prompt shuttle service to campus. We encourage everyone to consider using public transportation whenever possible.

Watch for further updates—via email, social media, and the website—as the university strives to minimize the construction’s impact on the campus community while enhancing the learning, teaching, and working environment.
