Every year UMass Boston holds a “Chancellor’s Holiday Card Contest." The university’s Office of Community Relations selects a group of children to draw holiday-themed pictures of what a “winter wonderland” looks like to them.

Community Relations looks to partner with a local school or youth group that can adapt this project for either a 3rd or 4th grade art class.

This year's student artists attend the John J. McGlynn Elementary School in Medford. Interim Director of Community Relations Philip J. Carver, Administrative Assistant Mona Connolly-Casper, and Coordinator of Community Services Alkia Powell visited the students and their art teacher Jennifer Belanger on Monday, along with Medford Mayor (and UMass Boston alumnus) Michael McGlynn '76.
