Pile Driving Ends as Roadwork, Utility Projects Begin

The cacophony of pile driving for General Academic Building No. 1 ended just in time for fall classes to begin. Foundation work will continue throughout the fall, with concrete trucks coming to and from the construction site adjacent to the Campus Center.

The first visible construction activity for the Utility Corridor and Roadway Relocation (UCRR) project is now underway. Crews are installing a deep drainage system to the northeast of the GAB No. 1 site.

Pedestrians who walk between campus, the Massachusetts State Archives Building, and John F. Kennedy Library are encouraged to use the Campus Center atrium doors, sidewalks, and crosswalks between the track and the GAB No. 1 site.  Please see the campus map for details.

Other UCRR construction work is scheduled to start within weeks.
