Preparing to Place ISC Floor Slabs

Crews are wrapping the Integrated Sciences Complex frame to prepare for a concrete placement in the north wing scheduled for next week.  At that time concrete trucks will once again line up to place concrete for the six-inch first floor slab. The coverings help protect against winter temperatures.

Edward M. Kennedy Institute
According to Edward M. Kennedy Institute construction leaders, foundation work continues on the future building located behind Lot A near the JFK Library. Crews are placing concrete for foundation pile caps. More than two-thirds of piles have been installed. The UMass Boston campus community may see increased construction truck traffic on University Drive through this winter as a result of the EMK Institute foundation work.

Survey Work
Surveyors have been on the campus grounds as part of pre-construction work for the Utility Corridor and Roadway Relocation project that is currently being designed.
