Summertime brings an increase in construction activity at UMass Boston. Visitors to the campus this month will notice continued pile driving at the site of General Academic Building No. 1, located adjacent to the Campus Center. Pile driving is sometimes loud, but it’s an essential early step in the construction of our latest state-of-the-art building. Work on the Utility Corridor and Roadway Relocation project is also underway.
You can learn about these initiatives and much more in the latest issue of the Building Connections newsletter. Be sure to read Chancellor J. Keith Motley’s letter on what this new construction signifies about UMass Boston’s vision for the future. You’ll also find stories about the springtime groundbreaking for GAB No. 1, and learn how our diverse, local workforce is helping us reshape the campus—creating new projects for the community, by the community.
