Planning is under way for next year's Dana Barros Holiday Jam, following the success of this past weekend's inaugural tournament at the Clark Athletic Center.

The Dana Barros Holiday Jam, named after the former Boston Celtic, is a collaboration between the community outreach component of the university's Division of Athletics and Recreation, Special Projects and Programs, The 3Point Foundation, and Boston Public Schools. The goal was to create a basketball event for student athletes from the Boston Public Schools and beyond. Another key factor for the organizers of the event was to give youth an important opportunity to see and feel what it’s like to be on a college campus.

Thirty high school and middle school teams from Boston and beyond took part, including Roxbury Prep, New Mission High School in Hyde Park, the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science in Roxbury, and Cohasset High School. More than 1,500 people attended the tournament over the course of three days.
