UMass Boston's men's soccer and women's volleyball teams both won Little East Conference championships on Saturday, ensuring automatic NCAA Tournament bids.

Men's Soccer Repeats as LEC Champions; Beacons Facing University of Scranton Saturday

The men's soccer team will travel to St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Beacons will take on the University of Scranton on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. It's their second ever NCAA Tournament game.

The team earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament by knocking off Rhode Island College 2-1 in overtime in Saturday's LEC championship game. Senior Pedro Dasilva of Fogo, Cape Verde scored both Beacons goals and was named the LEC Tournament MVP.

Volleyball Earns 6th Conference Title; Team Taking on Bowdoin College on Friday

The Beacons volleyball team will travel to MIT on Friday, where they will face Bowdoin College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at 3 p.m. UMass Boston also played Bowdoin College in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Beacons knocked off the Polar Bears in the regional championship game.

The Beacons earned their sixth LEC Tournament title on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Keene State College. Tournament MVP Pepper Baker posted 25 aces, seven digs, and three block assists. The junior is from Tallahassee, Florida.
