2016 All Star Anti-Violence Youth Summit
Eighty Boston Public School middle school students will take part in an All Star Anti-Violence Youth Summit on April 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the University of Massachusetts Boston Campus, Clark Athletic Center. This is a kick-off event to introduce a new gun violence prevention curriculum, and partnership, that includes the 3Point Foundation UMass Boston's Chancellor’s office, Division of Athletics, Recreation, Special Programs and Projects, Professor Joan Arches, the College of Public and Community Service (CPCS) and Arbella Insurance. It will address the Massachusetts Health Curriculum Frameworks for violence prevention utilizing sports, ELA, promoting awareness, agency and empowerment. The youth will participate in the daylong event starting with campus tours and basketball tournaments, followed by lunch, and role playing with Urban Improv, and recommendations to the Attorney General who will be at the event.
