Bamboo Painting Artist Wang Linxu Comes to UMass Boston

You are invited to join President Caret, Chancellor Motley, and the UMass Boston community for an interactive demonstration of traditional Chinese painting.

Wang Lin Xu uses Chinese inks, mixed with Chinese black tea, and papers to display lighting and colors as seen in western oil paintings.

His work graces museums and exhibitions worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Art Museum of Beijing’s Fine Art Academy, and galleries in Singapore, Tokyo, Brazil, and Paris.  You can also find his art in the U.S. Library of Congress and even the United Nations Headquarters, where he donated several pieces to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.  He was an art consultant for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he lives and works.
