UMass Boston Performing Arts presents the final performance in the 2017 Faculty Concert Series

Mary Oleskiewicz, an Associate Professor and Flutist at UMass Boston joins forces with Jessica Cooper, Associate Lecturer of Voice, to present a well-rounded program of virtuoso Baroque favorites from Monteverdi to Bach, with members of Newton Baroque.

Cooper, an agile soprano who is no stranger to Boston’s main stages, will perform enchanting arias from Bach’s “Coffee Cantata” and Vivaldi’s Il Ombra di Sospetto with Oleskiewicz, a prizewinning flutist, international touring artist, and principal of Newton Baroque. Oleskiewicz will perform solo works by Bach and Telemann. They will be joined by the young, up-and-coming Boston soprano Sierra Marcy, in vocal duets and in Handel’s famous “Sweet Bird” aria for flute and voice from Il Penseroso, and by Andrus Madsen, harpsichord, and Douglas Kelley, viola da gamba, both of Newton Baroque.
