The Northeast Region VA Nursing Alliance (NERVANA) presents an event at UMass Boston in the NERVANA Colloquia Series.

Target Audience

Nursing students, registered nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other clinicians who are interested in the care of American veterans


To provide a forum for clinical and academic partners and guests to share insights about the care of  veterans with substance use disorders and generate ideas for  advancing nursing and interdisciplinary practice, education and research for America’s heroes, their families and caregivers. 


  1. Describe scope of Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and co-morbidities;
  2. Describe in-patient and out-patient programs and  treatment options for veterans and families dealing with SUD
