The Marble Collection, the nonprofit publisher of the Massachusetts High School Magazine of the Arts, will hold its annual Spring into Art Gala on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 3 to 5 p.m. in UMass Boston’s Harbor Gallery. The event is a celebration of Massachusetts’ students, grades 8 to 12, whose writing, poetry, artwork, and photography are published in the organization’s award-winning online and print magazine. It features an exhibition and sale of jury-selected teen artwork and a program of readings of original works, emceed by SLAM poetry champion and hip hop artist Marlon Carey.

Spring into Art also includes a student musical group, raffle prizes, and the presentation of awards to two Massachusetts public high school teachers for their outstanding support of the arts. H’or deuvres and drinks will be served. The exhibition of teen artwork will remain in the Harbor Gallery until May 22.

“Our published teens look forward to our Spring into Art Gala all year. More than 230 guests joined us last year to celebrate our teens’ creative accomplishments. It’s also an opportunity for TMC to raise essential funds so we can continue to offer our publishing and mentoring programs at no cost," said the executive director of The Marble Collection, Deanna Elliot.
