Student Concert: Taking Back Sunday and Dev Headline

Taking Back Sunday

The Student Arts and Events Council (SAEC) will host a spring concert in the Clark Athletic Center ice rink on Wednesday, May 9 featuring Taking Back Sunday, Dev, Moufy, and Kiley Evans.

Tickets are being sold for $10 each in the Student Life Office on the third floor of the Campus Center. A valid UMass Boston ID is required for purchasing tickets.

Doors open at 5 p.m. on show day, and the concert starts at 6 p.m.

Taking Back Sunday is a rock band from Rockville Centre, New York, formed in 1999. The band has released three studio albums, including Tell All Your Friends and the self-titled Taking Back Sunday.

Dev has had more than 38 million views on YouTube for her song “In the Dark,” which reached No. 11 on the Billboard chart in October 2011.

Raised in Roxbury, 20-year-old rapper Moufy has burst onto the local, national, and international scenes, releasing his first project, City Dreamin’, in February 2011. His song with Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz accumulated more than 2 million YouTube views. He won “Best New Artist” at last year’s Boston Music Awards.

Boston native and country musician Kiley Evans’ song “Johnny Depp” has been receiving airplay from commercial, local, and college radio stations all over New England, and across the U.S. She received the “Songwriter of the Year” award from the Massachusetts Country Music Association, and the “Country Act of the Year” award from the New England Music Awards.
