Talented and Gifted Program (TAG) Mojitos Fundraiser
Please join us at this important fundraiser for the ILT's Talented And Gifted Latino Program (TAG) on December 13 at Mojitos Lounge in downtown Boston.
Please join us at this important fundraiser for the ILT's Talented And Gifted Latino Program (TAG) on 12/13/12 at Mojitos Lounge, 7 p.m. in downtown Boston.
As you know, the TAG Program is the living legacy of Lucia Mayerson-David ('71) who physically left us almost a year ago, but who's spirit is strong in her students, alumni and TAG Team. TAG has, for the past 27 years, provided a pathway for Latino students and English Language Learners to post-secondary education. It offers them academic, social and personal support, post-secondary and career exploration and guaranteed admission to UMass Boston.
Last year, thanks to the great support of our community, friends and alumni, we were able to award a total of $2,000 to three deserving TAG Scholars who are now in their first year of college, all three first generation college students and immigrants to this country.
This evening will raise funds to support the TAG Program, the TAG Alumni Pa'lante Scholarship Fund, and it will celebrate the great work of the program by honoring two outstanding alumni. It will be a festive evening of food, dancing, live latin music, silent auction, community building, commemorating Lucia and more! Join us! We are asking for a minimum donation at the door of $25 and will gratefully accept donations beyond this.
In the event you cannot join us, we hope that you will consider making a donation to the TAG Program; please see the information below on how to send your donations.
We look forward to celebrating the great work of the TAG Program, Lucia's legacy, with you on Thursday, December 13 at 7 p.m. at Mojitos Boston.
