Lemon follows three-time felon turned poet and Tony Award winner Lemon Andersen, who broke out on Broadway in Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam, as he takes his street smarts to the stage with astounding success. Can he escape the street life and generations of struggle for good? Featuring a surprise turn by Spike Lee and music by hip hop phenoms Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and others, this documentary debut personalizes the anguish of a generation of men clinging to the margins but fighting for something more.

A Q&A with filmmakers Laura Brownson and Beth Levison will follow the free screening. Lemon Anderson will also be in attendance.
