Dean Ira A. Jackson is pleased to announce the appointment of Garrison Nelson, professor of political science at the University of Vermont and author of a new biography on John W. McCormack, as the
Robert C. Wood Visiting Professor of Public and Urban Affairs.

Nelson is an expert on American government, political leadership, and political parties. He is also a former fellow of the John W. McCormack Institute for Public Affairs at UMass Boston, the predecessor of today's McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies.
