Additional Information

Janice Josephine Carney enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969, then served in Vietnam, hoping to either die there or come back as a real man. After feeling stressed about her gender into her forties, she made the decision to live as that woman that she was born as. Three documentaries and several books later, at the age of 50, Janice is an activist for transgender civil rights.
