The UMass Boston Center for Green Chemistry offers the Green Chemistry Track in the College of Science and Mathematics Chemistry PhD program, in collaboration with the Biology and Environmental, Earth and Ocean Sciences departments.

The first program of its kind in the world, it offers students the unique opportunity to obtain a degree that will prepare them for conventional chemistry jobs in industry, government and academia, as well as provide training in the chemical sciences and experience assessing the human impact on health and the environment.
