The Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016 Certificate Programs are a series of workshops designed to not only develop but build on your existing computer skills through a series of hands-on workshops. The certificate program covers Microsoft Office 2016, Office 365 and Windows 10.
Workshops are offered weekly throughout the year and are posted in the training portal. Attend three workshops in a given application and receive a certificate of completion. For example, attend three Excel workshops in a semester and receive a certificate of completion for Excel 2016. However, attendance for all of the workshops in a series is not necessary. You may attend only the individual workshops that you feel you need. However, attendance of a least three workshops in a given application is required to earn a certificate of completion.
Workshops are generally offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are 1.5 to 2 hours in length. Throughout the year IT also offers workshop “camps” where applications are covered from introduction through intermediate levels in the course of one week.
Windows 10 and More Certificate:
Attendees will get hands-on experience customizing and organizing the Windows 10 Start Menu with apps and applications. Familiarize yourself with new features like the Action Center, System Settings, Task View and Virtual Desktops. Get an overview of the new features found in Office 2016 and Office 365. Get the most out of Office by learning how Office 2016 and Office 365 work together to create real-time collaboration secure file sharing using your University Once Drive account.
Word 2016 Certificate:
Word has evolved, have you kept up with new features and functionality? In this certificate series users will acquire a foundation in Word 2016 formatting basics including, tab, indents and margins. Experience all of the features available on the insert ribbon giving you the expertise to create a visually appealing document. These workshops are designed to make you more efficient and will also give your documents a distinct professional edge. Do you know the difference between styles and themes? Learn how to apply styles and themes to create consistency across your Word documents and other Office applications. Whether you are a student, faculty or staff, these Word 2016 workshops will show you time-saving features giving you professionally designed results.
PowerPoint 2016 Certificate:
Want to avoid putting your audience into a PowerPoint coma? Come learn the PowerPoint 2016 software application, covering basic and advanced features in a series of three, hands-on workshops. A clinic on best practices to create and give an effective presentation is offered following the hands-on workshops. Learn how to apply and use appropriately animation, sound video, screen recordings and more to create an appealing and effective visual tool that will assist YOU the presenter in making your point effectively.
Excel 2016 Certificate:
There are four workshops offered in the Excel 2016 series. The Introduction to Excel workshop covers basic features and simple functions. At the end of this workshop users will have gained experience in locating commands, creating a table, performing simple functions and converting the table to a chart and other new features using the quick analysis tool. Following the Introduction to Excel there are three more advanced workshops. They are Charts, Functions, and Database Features. In these workshops users will identify and use more advanced Excel functions and features to create charts, manipulate and analyze data.
