For children, ages 7‐8, entering the second grade in the Fall 2024.

Families with children with or without behavioral, emotional, and/or learning challenges (e.g., ADHD), and without autism spectrum disorder or intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Focusing on positive reinforcement for in- and out-of-school behavior.

Social-emotional training to help maintain emotional control and foster healthy social interaction.

Strengthen and promote parent-child bonds.

Academic enrichment and prevention of summer learning loss.

Includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and camp gear.

Includes transportation from designated pick-up/drop-off sites in several area communities.

Time commitment: Children attend camp for 4 consecutive weeks; parents attend one 2-hour parent training session per week (dinner and childcare for child and sibling provided).

Choice of gift cards for parents and teachers for completing questionnaires and an evaluation before camp begins and at the end of camp.

Provides sports instruction in recreational activities including soccer, kickball, t-ball, and more.

Inclusive: 50% of campers are children with behavior problems and 50% are children without behavior problems.

The day camp is part of a new program being conducted by Camp Shriver, and will run from Monday, July 8, 2024, to Friday, August 2, 2024, operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM on the UMass Amherst Mount Ida Campus in Newton MA.
