UMass Boston

Institute for New England Native American Studies

The Institute for New England Native American Studies (INENAS) was founded in 2009, and joined the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development in 2015.

Under the direction of J. Cedric Woods, PhD, INENAS develops partnerships and programs between UMass Boston and Native American tribes throughout the region. All our initiatives focus on three key needs of New England's Native peoples: access to high-quality education, improved socio-economic status, and robust community health and wellness.
