Workshop Requests

At University Health Services, we offer a variety of workshops, presentations, and other types of programming for request by student/campus organizations, university classes, and other campus entities.

Guidelines for Requesting a Workshop

  • Expect to have 4 or more attendees.
  • Requested/Scheduled at least 1 week in advance of the program date.
  • Allow 30, 45, or 60 minutes for the program.
  • The requestor will reserve needed space for the program or coordinate with UHS staff.

Workshop Offerings

We can accommodate the below programs on Zoom or on-campus in either 30, 45, or 60 minutes.  Food/beverages and/or freebies are recommended, but not required, for incentives.

General Medicine Services 101
  • Curious about University Health Services' General Medicine clinic and what we offer? We'll review the ins and outs of our practices, answer commonly asked questions, and help your group understand what actually happens! (Offered by Chloe, Health Educator)
Clear Voices, Strong Connections: Navigating Healthy Communication
  • Let's find ways to enhance our interpersonal skills and promote constructive dialogue together. Explore practical strategies for effective communication that foster understanding, collaboration, and positive connections in both personal and professional spheres.

Embracing You: A Journey to Body Positivity
  • Get ready to embark on a joyful journey of self-love and acceptance. We'll explore empowering strategies and positive perspectives to foster a deep sense of body positivity.
Health-Related Trivia (choose your topic)
  • This program invites participants to answer trivia questions about health-related trivia - choose your topic! Think: alcohol/drugs, sexual health, preventative healthcare, exercise, or specific awareness months/weeks!

KORU Mindfulness 101
  • New to Koru? Invite us for a presentation on Koru Mindfulness and how mindfulness and meditation impact Emerging Adults. Participants will learn about various mindfulness practices and try a few practices out. Many students find it helps them build the habit of using it in their lives on a regular basis and offers an approach for finding greater satisfaction in daily life as well as a sense of community. 
KORU Mindfulness Drop-In
  • Looking to bring mindfulness to your group? Participants will learn about various mindfulness practices and try a few practices out. Many students find it helps them build the habit of using it in their lives on a regular basis and offers an approach for finding greater satisfaction in daily life as well as a sense of community. 
KORU Mindfulness 4-Week Course
  • In this free, four-session course designed for college students, you will learn about various mindfulness practices. Many students find it helps them build the habit of using it in their lives on a regular basis and offers an approach for finding greater satisfaction in daily life as well as a sense of community. 
Let's Talk about sex!
  • This program invites participants to engage with sexual health education + trivia questions about sexual health, including sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, body image, reproduction, consent and boundaries, relationships and intimacy, sexual and reproductive anatomy, pleasure, our bodies, and so much more!

Prescribing Self-Care: A Pre-Med Students Guide to Mental Health
  • Are you a pre-medical student, overwhelmed by your course load and pressures of the STEM student's undergraduate life? This workshop helps put things into perspective. Learn how to use important self-care tricks, and how to make your mental health a priority.
Put Your Records On: Music and Wellbeing
  • Unleash the power of melody to enhance your mental and emotional well-being. Where beats meet your bliss, join us as we explore the therapeutic harmony between music and self-care for a truly uplifting experience. 
sExpress On-the-Go
  • Want to offer your group a wide range of safer sex supplies? UHS staff bring their expertise in sexual health to answer all questions related to safer sex, STI testing, contraceptive use, lube, and more. We will bring a variety of safer sex supplies for all types of bodies and types of sex, including external condoms, internal condoms, oral dams, and water-based lube. (Offered by Chloe, Health Educator)
Stress Busting Self-Care
  • Join us for a dynamic and informative session where you'll learn playful stress-busting techniques, embrace mindfulness, and discover practical stress management hacks to turn your stress into good vibes at our self-care through stress management workshop. 
Time Well Spent: The Clockwork of Self-Care
  • Navigate the chaos of life with our self-care through our time management workshop. Gain practical insights and tool to reclaim control over your schedule and prioritize self-care in the midst of daily demands.

UMB-UR-BEST (or University Resources for Behavioral and Educational Skills Training) consists of advanced Clinical Psychology doctoral students with a range of clinical and research experiences and are guided by a culturally responsive and social justice-oriented approach to support services for UMass Boston.
