My Health Beacon Portal

To ensure the health and safety of our faculty, students, staff, and surrounding community, UMass Boston will continue to operate in a hybrid fashion, with some courses lodged on campus and others continuing in remote modality.  Many answers about the campus's response to the coronavirus can be found in our special section.

UHS provides primary and episodic (illness) care to enrolled students at UMass Boston. We can address pre-existing and ongoing health needs, as well as evaluate a new onset of symptoms. Same-day appointments are available to students with an episodic illness or injury.

Medical care, including primary preventative care, annual physical examinations, and sexual and reproductive health care, is available by appointment. Our select specialties include travel medicine, sports physicals, nutrition counseling, laboratory services, and an immunization + tuberculosis screening clinic.

Our healthcare team is committed to providing high-quality and timely services to our students. We will help coordinate your referral to a specialist if your condition requires more specialized services. If you require services after-hours, please see a listing of our after-hours local urgent care and emergency services.

Please note: UHS does not provide verification of illness (sick notes). It is imperative that students with any symptoms of acute disease refrain from attending classes for the health and safety of the campus. Students should not be required to visit University Health Services, except as needed to care for their illness, and should not be directed to any medical care facility for the purpose of obtaining a verification note. Please reach out to the Dean of Students' Office for more information regarding the absence policy.
