This course focuses on the development of advanced practice nursing knowledge and skills in health assessment with an emphasis on diverse populations. Concepts, theories and research germane to the scientific underpinnings for practice in the context of the bio-psycho-social and environmental domains of human development are emphasized. Critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning and communication skills are developed through practice with case guided vignettes and simulated or clinical practice experiences specific to the student's area of advanced practice nursing.
