Additional Information

Ceara Somerville is a PhD candidate in Gerontology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2013 at Salem State University, where she majored in mathematics and minored in English, physics, and secondary education. Ceara earned her MS in gerontology at UMass Boston in 2016. Her research interests include aging services and bridging the gaps between research, policy, and practice. Her dissertation will focus on senior centers in Massachusetts: how they are structured and function, how they differ by type of community, and how they innovate to meet the needs of older adults. She aims to continue conducting applied research on aging service organizations upon completing her PhD.
