Dr. Heelan-Fancher is a board-certified family and adult nurse practitioner and certified nurse educator. She is the recipient of the Massachusetts American Nurses' Association 2020 Excellence in Nursing Research award and the 2018 Pearl Rosendahl Teaching Excellence award. Her program of research is focused on advancing birth equity for women of color and using evidence to develop interventions that support women in early labor.
