Venture Development Center (VDC)

The VDC is UMass Boston’s business incubator. Since 2009, it has been a catalyst, connecting entrepreneurs and start-ups with the research and business expertise, facilities, and collaborations needed to transform ideas and translational research into breakthrough innovation and commercially viable businesses.

Research Core Facilities

The ten research core facilities on our Boston campus offer the combined benefits of shared lab facilities with technical and scientific expertise. Each core facility is staffed by specialized experts and equipped with cutting-edge instrumentation, offering an affordable and efficient way for internal and external customers to access the advanced tools and expert support they need to conduct their research.

Commercial Ventures and Intellectual Property (CVIP)

CVIP evaluates, protects and commercializes technologies and discoveries created by faculty, staff, and students. The office also handles questions about copyright, material transfer, and confidential disclosure agreements.
