How to Apply
Applicants must meet general graduate admission requirements in addition to the following program-specific requirements:
- Candidates must have at least a 2.75 undergraduate grade point average
- Transcripts from all institutions where you have earned more than 6 credits
- Résumé
- Personal statement
Deadlines & Cost
Deadlines: June 15 for fall
Application Fee: The nonrefundable application fee is $75. UMass Boston alumni and current students who plan to complete degree requirements prior to graduate enrollment can submit the application without paying the application fee. CREATE participants are not charged an application fee.
Cost: For additional information regarding tuition and fees, please visit the Bursar’s Office or send an email to Bursar@umb.edu. Please refer to Graduate Student Financial Aid for more information on financial aid.

Graduation Criteria
Complete 15 credits (five courses) in Applied Linguistics while maintaining a 3.5 or better GPA.
Statute of Limitations: Five years.
