About The China Program Center

The China Program Center at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks to advance scholarly and business collaborations between China and America through innovative program offerings. The center’s goal is to produce mutually beneficial, culturally accurate programming to improve intercultural relations with a focus on the study of Chinese language and the society.

The center serves as an invaluable resource for educational leaders, schools and school districts by providing the specific tools needed to build successful American-Chinese learning endeavors. It brings extensive cultural knowledge about the two countries to its audiences through innovative academic courses, training sessions, internships, workshops, and mentorships.

Since the explosive economic growth in China, the 2008 Summer Olympics and the increased use of English various leaders from China and America have realized the tremendous advantages afforded to them by the alliance of nations. As this cooperation increases, so do business and academic opportunities.

The China Program Center at UMass Boston addresses critical needs for increasing cooperation and the alliance of nations for Chinese audiences through global leadership skills, training for university faculty and secondary school educators, and graduate and undergraduate degree programs. And for American audiences with knowledge of how to study in China, China-based cultural programs, and courses that focus on the best practices for teaching Mandarin
