File Transfers

For transferring files to/from on-campus HPC storage servers, secure copy (SCP) is the preferred application (or protocol).

Linux and OS X:

On a Linux or OS X system, its syntax is similar to the cp command, and is covered fully in the man pages ('man scp').

Windows:

On a Microsoft windows system, we recommend (and support) the use of Cygwin/X.  Alternatively, there are various other scp clients available such as PuTTY or WinSCP.
