Student Affairs Technology Services (SATS)

Student Affairs Technology Services or SATS is responsible to provide Information Technology management and support around principles of standardization, centralization, and enhancing resource efficiency. SATS is responsible for directing, managing, and supporting Student Affairs technology resources.

SATS consists of full-time staff as well as part time student staff that coordinate and manage computers, information systems, and technology initiatives for supported units within Student Affairs Division.  We provide limited networking support, assist with database implementation, manage and support hardware and software, complete technology purchasing, keep a technology asset inventory, support digital media and communications, and provide limited application and software training.

If you experience a problem with Student Affairs technology hardware, software, or databases, or have a question about your computer or software, please call, email, or open a ticket with the SATS Office.

    • If your area has a critical technology emergency, downtime to a managed Student Affairs technology function that if not addressed immediately would result in operations being extremely difficult, if not impossible or will impact student and/or employee health or safety for a Student Affairs managed technology service, (e.g., cameras, card services/access control, Student Affairs servers, security issues with a Student Affairs managed application containing PII such as Maxient), Your call will be routed to an on-call SATS staff person, 24/7/365.  Please note, an individual being locked-out of a building, or a space is not an on-call emergency.  Such an individual should be routed to UMBPD dispatch (617.287.7780) for a key call and directed after the key call is complete to contact to troubleshoot their access permission.   

All Student Affairs computer, network hardware, software and technology purchases must be processed through, and approved by SATS to ensure appropriate licensing, compatibility, inventory, and installation.
