NA Grade
As of Fall 2026
Students will be dropped from classes where they have been reported as not attending within one week after the published add/drop period. Please note, this only happens if faculty submits a “NA” grade roster by the designated deadline.
- When a student is issued an NA, the Registrar will send an email to the student notifying the student that they have received NA and giving them 48 hours to “appeal” that. Faculty will be copied on the email and will be asked to approve any appeals for students to remain in the class.
- NA becomes a drop after 48 hours, class and credits are removed from the students record
NA Policy Prior to Fall 2026
Prior to Fall 2026
The “NA” grade may be placed on a student's transcript if the student has registered for a course, and:
- did not attend the course during the Add/Drop period, and
- failed to drop the course by the published Add/Drop deadline, and
- if course attendance is taken and faculty submits “NA” grade roster by the designated deadline.
Once a grade of NA is assigned, it cannot be changed to a letter grade.
The “NA” grade does not affect a student's grade point average. The student is, however, responsible for all tuition and fees for the “NA” course.
Faculty who take attendance may submit an “NA” by the designated deadline usually during the first month of the semester.
